Cpl. Grover Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Crawford, of Kerens, Texas, was born in Mississippi April 7, 1895.  He was educated in the public schools of Kerens and at Baylor University.  On September 20, 1917, he entered the service and was sent to Camp Travis, where he trained with Company D, 359th Infantry, 90th Division.  Was transferred to Company C, 315th Field Signal Bn., 90th Division. Sailed for overseas duty June 27, 1918, where he saw active service in the St. Mihiel and the great Meuse-Argonne offensive.  Through good service was promoted from private to Corporal.  On June 26, 1919, was granted his discharge.
