John Stanford Moore was born in Edwards Co., TX on Nov 17, 1892.  He was the son of Sidney Meshack Moore and Henrietta (Crowmians) Moore.  On 28 May 1919 in Lewisville, Denton Co., TX, he married Dora Narcissa Garrett, the daughter of John Bascom Garrett & Margaret Frances (Tennery) Garrett.  Stanford and Dora had 10 children, Sidney Moore, Alvin Moore, Mary Joyce Moore, James L. Moore, Iva Mae Moore, Alma Faye Moore, Margaret Moore, Lewis Moore, Frances Moore, and Mollie Merle Moore.

Sandford was a World War I Veteran.  He died on Dec 22, 1982.  Dora died on Oct 16, 1986.  The are buried at the Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Navarro County, Texas.

BLOOMING GROVE—Stanford Moore, 90, of Blooming Grove, died Wednesday night at his residence.

Service is Friday, 10 a.m., at the Church of Christ—Westhill. Bert Mercer and John Shero will officiate with burial in Dresden cemetery.

Arrangements are with Griffin Funeral Home.

He was a veteran of World War 1.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Moore.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dora Moore, of Blooming Grove; three sons, Sidney Moore, of Blooming Grove, Alvin Moore, of Dallas, and Lewis Moore, of Barry; six daughters, Mary Johnson of Duncanville, Iva Mae Price, of Waxahachie, Faye Steen, of Greenville, Margaret Jenkins, of Dawson, Frances Whitner, of Lubbock, and Mollie Southard of Blooming Grove; 35 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Minerva Carter of Duncanville, Irene Foster, of California, and Omega Perry of Pasadena.

Pallbearers will be Clovis Haden, Elwood Ferrell, Ordway Ferrell, Bob Harper, O. L. Slaughter, Paul Loosier, Jessie Beamon and Blair Beamon.
