Pvt. Henry Irvin Nixon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Nixon.  He was born in Richland, Navarro County, Texas, September 29, 1894, and educated in the public schools at that place.  Following the declaration of war between the United States and Germany was called to service August 8, 1918, and ordered to Camp Cody, New Mexico, where he was trained with Company H, 134th Infantry, 34th Division.  Then ordered to Camp Dix, New Jersey, and from there set sail for France October 17, 1918, arriving in France the latter part of October.  After its arrival in France the division was ordered to Le Mans, where it was broken up.  Pvt. Dixon was transferred to a Replacement Company and assigned to Company I, 141st Infantry, 36th Division.  Following the signing of the armistice was ordered home and received his discharge July 4, 1919.
