Battle Creek Burial Marker

I was looking through the Navarro co, Texas website and somehow came across the photo you had taken of the Battle Creek Burial Grounds marker in Dawson, Navarro Co., TX.

That photos looked awful familiar, so I started looking through daddy's old photos and came across that photo with my sister and I as little girls/babies, visiting that marker, back in about 1963/64. My daddy took the photo and my mother is in the photo with my sister and I! What a surprise!

My mother is Willia Beth (Nickerson) Ivie holding my sister hand (she's in the diaper), and I'm off to myself.

Notice that the tree hadn't grown around the granite marker yet and is standing free. The photo is slightly blurred, but you can make it out that it is the same marker.

Mention as recognition is a name Ingraham. I am sure this one of my ancestors, related to Joseph Epheldred Ingram (Ingraham) and his daughter; Jerushia Acenith (Ingram) Williams. Do you have the full name of the Ingraham buried there?

Just thought I'd share this with you. I was so excited when I found this photo and it predated the one you took! Guess that dates me too!!!  :-)

Sincerely;

Beth Ivie-Allen
