H I Duke of Purdon was in the city between trains Wednesday.

F N Matthews of Purdon attended the singing and visited relatives here Sunday

 

            Haston Earl Duke married Annie Jewell Matthews, daughter of

            F N Matthews.   Their son was Sparton S Duke

 

Mrs Gray Sims visited friend and relatives in Hubbard Tuesday.

 

            Mrs. Sims…nee Ethel Norris…was a Hubbard native.

Mrs. J R Smith spent Sunday in the city with Mrs. W W Turner and family

 

            Mrs. James Rucker Smith…nee Annette Wheelock…was a siter of Mrs.

            W W Turner…nee  Olivia Wheelock

 

Mrs. W W Wilson of Hubbard came in Wednesday morning for a visit with her daughter, Mrs. R H Comer.

Miss Freddie Simms of Hillsboro spent Sunday in the city with home folks.

Friday, February 12, is Abraham Lincoln’s 106th birthday.    Both banks will be closed on that day.  Take notice and govern yourself accordingly.

            Clarence Marshall Dempsey b. 1867 was son of Michael Doyle Dempsy, born 1837 in

            Tennessee, died 1884 at Dresden, Texas.
