CRYER CREEK SCHOOL CONSOLIDATED WITH SCHOOL AT BARRY

Cryer Creek school was consolidated with the Barry Schools Wednesday at a meeting of the Navarro County School board with a majority of the patrons of the school district and other interested communities attending according to an announcement late Wednesday afternoon by G. H. Brown, county school superintendent.

The Cryer Creek school was not affiliated and a desire had been expressed in a petition signed by most of the residents of that community to consolidate the school with one that was affiliated. Barry, Blooming Grove and Emhouse schools were mentioned in the petition presented.

The crowd present for the school board meeting Wednesday was so large that the session was held in the American Legion hall in the basement of the courthouse.
