AGED CONFEDERATE VETERANS TO MEET IN CALLED SESSION
A. J. Hood, commander of Camp Winkler will call a meeting of the camp
Saturday afternoon, May 18, promptly at 2 o'clock at Chamber of Commerce Rooms.
All members of the U.C.V. are urged to be present to discuss the plans and rates
to the annual reunion of Confederate Veterans June 1-4 at Charlotte, N.C.
this is the first time the Old North State has entertained the veterans and
great preparations are being made to make the soldiers comfortable and happy,
during their stay in beautiful Charlotte.
One way fare plus twenty-five cents will be made by all railroads out of
Charlotte to Washington D. C. and all points in the Southern states. This
occasion will be an opportunity for the Veterans not only to meet again at the
reunion but to visit the old home state and look over the battlefields of the
past.
Navarro county will send as many of her veterans as are physically able to make
the trip and friends who are interested in their going to the reunion are
invited to meet with the veterans Saturday afternoon, May 18. ADJUTANT
