Pfc. William T. Benefield, son of Mrs. Alice Benefield, attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered the Marines in 1940, training at San Diego, and Camp Elliott, Calif.  Served in American and British Samoa, New Zealand, Nummea, Tarawa, and Hawaii.  Is now on duty at Camp LeJeune, N.C.

George "Buddy" Benfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Benfield, attended Purdon School.  Entered the Coast Guard in 1944, training at Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he is now on duty.

MM 3/C Nathan R. Benfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Benfield, attended Dawson School.  Entered the Navy in 1943, training at Camp LeJeune, N.C. Is now on duty at Hawaii.

S/Sgt. Bufford L. Benfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Benfield, wife is the former Lois Seveeney. Attended Pursley schools.  Entered the Army in 1942, training at Camp Barkley.  Served in England, Belgium, Germany, and is now on duty in France.  Wounded in Germany in 1944.  Received Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Good Conduct Ribbon.

Sgt. Edwin B. Benfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Benfield, graduated from Dawson schools.  Entered the Air Corps in 1941, training at Hamilton Field, Calif.  Served in Ascension Island.  Now on duty at Eglin Field, Fla.

COX James M. "Buddy" Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burl Bennett, attended school at Richland.  Entered the Navy Air Corps in 1944, training at Camp Wallace and serving at Marshall Island.
BENNETT, WILLIAM D.
Pfc. William D. Bennett, son of the late Mr. and Mrs Bun Bennett, husband of former Ruby Jo Lews attended Emhouse Schools. Entered the Army in 1942, training at Camp Howze Camp Clebure and Camp Kilmer. Served in France, Belgium, Holland, and is now in Germany.

BENSON, WILLIAM F.
Pfc. William F. Benson, son of Mrs. Lela Benson, graduated from Corsicana Schools.  Entered service when the National Guard was mobilized.  Trained with the 36th Division of the Field Artillery at Camp Hood, Camp Blanding, Camp Edwards.  Served in Sicily, Italy, Sothern France, and is now in Germany.  Fought in the battle of Salerno and in other battles.  Received Bronze Star.  Was honorably Discharged July 1945.
BERRY, BILLY P.
Cpl. Billy P. Berry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Berry, Kerens, graduated from Kerens High School, and attended Texas Tech. Entered the Marines March, 1943, training at U.S. Marine Base in San Diego, Calif. Engaged in 5 Pacific Campaigns. Awarded Sharpshooter, Good Conduct, Purple Heart, Presidential Citation with 3 Battle Stars. Wounded in Tinian and is now on duty with 4th Marines in P.T.O.

Pvt. Earl T. Berry, son of late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Berry, Kerens.  Husband of the former Lucille Baker.  Attended Kerens School.  Entered the Army April, 1944, training at Ft. Bliss, Ft. Jackson, S.C. Now on duty in Italy.

Guinea, Saipan, Admiralty Is., Guam, Luzon.  Now at Poublo, Wash.  Awarded Good Conduct Ribbon, PTO Ribbon with Stars.
BETTS, SIDNEY A.
Sgt. Sidney A. Betts, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Betts.  Attended Union High Schools.  Entered service, 1942.  Trained with Air Corps at Wichita Falls.  Served in England and is now on duty in Africa.
BETTS, HAROLD
S/Sgt Harold Betts, son of Mrs. O. L. Betts.  Wife, the former Audrey Kellog, Devoe, England.  Graduate of Purdon Schools.  Entered service, 1941.  Trained with Air Corps at San Antonio and is now on duty in England.
BETTS, WELDON
Sgt. Weldon Betts, son of Mrs. O. L. Betts, attended school in Richland and entered service, 1942.  Trained in Galveston, S. Carolina, La., and Calif.  Now on duty in Arkansas.
