Lt. G. J. Saveriano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Saverian, New Jersey.  Wife is the former Margaret Burge.  Entered service, 1943.  Trained at Corsicana, Waco, Victoria and Arizona.  Now on duty at Victorville, Calif.
 
SAWYER, J. E.
CSF J. E. Sawyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Sawyer, Dawson. Entered service 1942, training at Rhode Island with Navy. Served in Australia, New Guinea. Now in Philippines.

SAWYER, RALPH H.
2nd Lt. Ralph H. Sawyer, son of Mrs. Willie R. Sawyer, Corsicana, graduated from Richland High School. Entered the Army in 1942, training at Camp Wolters, Camp Adair, Oregon, and Camp Carson, Colo. Served in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. Awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Oak Leaf Cluster, and inf. Combat Badge. Wounded in 1944 and 1945.

SAWYER, LEONARD T.
F./Sgt. Leonard T. Sawyer, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Sawyer, Corsicana.  Attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered the service in 1939, trained with Army Medical Corps at Marfa, san Francisco, Monterey, Ft. Lewis and Ft. Dix.  Served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany.  Wears Good Conduct Ribbon.  Now on duty in France.
 
SCOTT, JERRY S.
Lt. Jerry S. Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Scott, Sr., Frost. Wife is the former Richie Ripley. Frost High School Graduate. Attended A & M. Entered service, 1941, trained with Navy Air Corps at Corpus Christi. Served in Pacific Theater and in Hawaii.

Capt. Homer A. Scott, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Scott, Sr., Frost. Wife is the former Agatha Rose Todaro. Attended Frost School, University of Texas. Entered service, 1940, training with Air Corps at Brooks Field. Served in New Guinea, Netherland East Indies, Philippines, Okinawa. American Defense, Philippine Liberation, American and Asiatic, Pacific Ribbon received.

Pfc. Omer L. Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Scott, husband of the former Miss Mamie Dell Stanley, attended Coolidge Schools.  Entered service, 1944, trained with Army at Camp Wolters and Camps Fannin and Ft. Ord.  Has served in the Philippines, now on duty on Luzon.  Has Combat Infantry Badge.

SCHAFRANKA, ROBERT V.
1st Lt. Robert V. Schafranka, of Corsicana, son of Mrs. Robert V. Schafranka, Embudo, New Mexico.  Received primary flight training at Corsicana Air Field, received wings from Blackland Field at Waco.  Sent to Italy Dec., 1943, made 50 missions over Italy, France, Yugoslavia, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany as pilot of B-24 Liberator.  Received Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and five Oak Leaf Clusters and Unit Citation.
 
SCHLEMMER, ALTON E.
Pfc. Alton E. Schlemmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Schlemmer, husband of the former Miss Leta Hill.  Entered service, 1942, trained with Army at Ft. KInox, Kentucky.  Has served in England, France, Belgium and Germany, wounded in Germany, 1944, now on duty at San Antonio.  Received Purple Heart, and several Battle Stars.
 
SCHOMERUS, DENSIL W.
Pfc. Densil W. Schomerus, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Schomerus, attended Dawson High School.  Entered serice, 1943, trained with 96th Infantry Division of Army at Camp Roberts, Calif.  Has served in Hawaii, Leyte, Okinawa.  Has Combat Infantry Badge, and 2 Combat Stars.
 
SCHOMERUS, WILLIAM D.
Fireman William D. Schomerus, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Schomerus, attended Richland High School.  Entered service, 1944, trained with Merchant Marines at St. Petersburg, Fla.  Has served in Hawaii, Guam, Marshal Islands, England, Belgium and Holland, now on sea duty.  Has Atlantic and Pacific Theater Ribbons.
 
SCHOMERUS, JESSE R.
T/Sgt. Jesse R. Schomerus, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Schomerus, husband of the former Miss Louise O'Hara, attended Zions Rest School.  Entered service, 1941, trained with Air Corps at Keesler Field.  Now on duty at Gowan Field, Boise, Idaho.
 
SCHULTZ, WILLIAM E.
Lt. William E. Schultz, son of Mrs. Gertrude Fuller, husband of the former Miss Rairlee Just, attended Frost Schools.  Entered service, 1939, trained with Army at Ft. Sam Houston, and San Diego, Calif.  Has served in China, Japan and Philippines, wounded on Bataan, 1941, now on duty at Brooks Gen. Hospital.  Has Purple Heart, Presidential Citation, and Good Conduct Ribbon with 5 Battle Stars.
 
SCHULTZ, PAUL R.
Pvt. Paul R. Schultz, son of Mrs. Gertrude Fuller, graduate of State Home.  Entered service, 1943, trained with Cavalry at Ft. Riley, Kansas and Ft. Knox, Ky., where he is now on duty.
 
SCHULTZ, ROBERT L.
Petty Officer, 3/C Robert L. Schultz, son of Mrs. Gertrude Fuller, graduate of State Home.  Entered service, 1943, trained with Navy at Norman, Okla., San Diego, Cal.  Has served in South Pacific, where now on duty.  Wounded in action on U.S.S. Lexington.
