Entered service Dec. 31, 1942, serving with the Army Air Force, Central Flying Training Command, Randolph Field, Texas. Served as an Assistant Exchange Liaison Officer and Exchane Liaison Officer. Received a Commendation from Victor H. Strahm, Brigadier Gn., commending hi for his high standard of efficiency in doing his duties. Honorably discharged Sept. 1, 1945. Notes:

HUGH L. WOOD, JR. F.O. Hugh L. Wood Jr., son of Hugh and Nellie Stokes Wood. Graduate of Corsicana High School. Enlisted in the USAAF and received advanced pilot training at Ellinton Field where he received his Wings and became a bomber pilot. Attached to the 787th Squadron, 466 Bomb Group, USAAF, stationed in England. Made more than 20 missions. After his return to the States, he attended Texas A.& M. and was killed in a car wreck during his senior year in 1948. Notes:
