Clyde W. Bell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.
P. Bell of Barry, Texas. He was born in Barry, Navarro County, August 8,
1893, where he was educated in the public schools. April 21, 1917, he
entered the service with Troop H, 1st United States Cavalry, and sent to
Calexico, California, for training. He remained at this place for some
time and showed good ability. Later was transferred to the Radio Signal
Corps, and is now stationed at Fort Gibbon, Alaska. Following the signing
of the armistice he did not sever his connection with the Government, but is
still in the service.
