OBITUARY

John T. Brooks dies At Barry
BARRY, Jan 2 - (Spl) - John T. (Jack) Brooks, 66, farmer and landowner, died at his home here Tuesday following an extended illness.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of relatives but will be held from the Barry Methodist church with burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Blooming Grove.  He was a Methodist.

The rites will be conducted by Rev. Don Holt, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Johnny Harper, pastor of the Ferris Methodist church and Rev. W. B. Morton, retired Methodist minister of Coleman.

A native of Blooming Grove, he had resided at Barry 38 years.

Surviving are his wife of Barry; a son, Rev Ray O. Brooks; Baptist minister at Henderson; three daughters, Mrs. Tommye Hall, Fort Worth; Mrs. Elvice Barr, Seattle, Wash, and Mrs. Vida Hughes, Dallas; five brothers, Ben A. Brooks, Dallas; Hardy O. Brooks, Carlsbad, N. M.; Jim O. Brooks, Seminole; Robert E. Brooks, Corpus Christie, and W. W. (Ted) Brooks, Refugio; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie White, Big Sandy, and Mrs. Myrtle Wood, Dallas; 10 grandchildren and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Rhodes, Jr.; Cecil Moore, John Brawley, Byron Perry, George Watson, and Roy Massengale.
