M. E. Clough, June 30, 1844-August 5, 1927

M. E. Clough, a Confederate veteran, died here. Mr. Clough was born in Camden, Ark., June 30, 1845, and came to Texas with his parents in 1851 and located near where the town of Teague now is located, and later moved to Dresden, Navarro County. Mr. Clough joined the Confederate Army and did frontier service under Capt. Tobin, Second Texas Cavalry, Hood's Brigade. Mr. Clough was married twice and five children were born to each union. His last wife died thirty-nine years ago. Mr. Clough wore a cross of honor for his services in the Confederate Army. He was buried at Dresden.
