George Washington Henderson
Aug 4, 1837 - May 10, 1926

George W. Henderson served the Confederacy as a Private in Winkler's Company I, 4th Texas Volunteer Infantry - The Navarro Rifles. He was  wounded in the right thigh on May 6, 1864 in the Battle of the Wilderness.  Furlough granted, Oct 1864. Lived in Oklahoma as of Jan 1, 1908.  He is buried in Petty's Chapel Cemetery, Navarro Co., TX.

 

OBITUARY

AGED MAN PASSED AWAY HERE MONDAY FUNERAL TUESDAY

George Henderson, aged 89 years, died Monday at noon at the residence of S. T. Phillips, 517 East Tenth avenue and the remains were interred in the Petty’s Chapel cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock.

The deceased was born in Illinois.
