Robert G. Lewis was born in Fleming County, Ky, March 28, 1828 to Peter B. Lewis and Catherine B. Ringo. On December 13, 1852 his marriage bond to Elizabeth M. Seever was posted. About 1854  He, Elizabeth and one son moved to Navarro County, TX.  Also with them was Elizabeth's brother William Seever. The family are listed on the 1860 census residing in Dresden, Navarro County.  He enlisted in the service July 10, 1862.  He did not return from his service in the Civil War and his burial place is unknown.
