Anthony M. Permenter, Purdon, Chief Gunner's Mate, U. S. Navy, entered the service of the U. S. Navy, April 7, 1917.  Trained at the Great Lakes Training Station and at New Orleans.  Went to France and England in the transport service.  At time this data was gathered he was still in service on board the U. S. S. Survey, which ship is thought to be the one that sunk the sub which torpedoed the Lusitania.
