Pvt. J. R. Pickett, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Pickett, of Dawson, was born in Limestone
County May 3, 1893, and was educated in the public schools. He entered the service May 25, 1918. Was sent to Camp Travis,
where he trained with the Machine Gun Company, 328th Infantry, 82nd Division. On August 18, 1918, he sailed for France, where he
