Funeral Services Set Today For Eric and Kyle Richards

Joint funeral services for Kyle and Eric Richards, sons of Mr. & Mrs.
W. L. "Peb" Richards, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, in the First United Methodist Church in Blooming Grove.

Other details were pending Tuesday morning. Bradley Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

The two youngsters drowned Monday afternoon while apparently playing on the thin ice that covered a stock tank near their home, on Highway 22 between Blooming Grove and Barry.

Eric was a second grade student at the Blooming Grove School and Kyle was in kindergarten.

Bradley Funeral Home ambulance answered the call about 2:30 p.m.
Monday. Justice of the Peace Joe Wilson pronounced the two youngsters dead at the scene.

Survivors, in addition to the boys' parents, include a sister, Mandy, and grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Richards, and Mrs. J. W. Hinkle, all of the Blooming Grove area.

Two children drown in Barry stock tank

BARRY—Two Barry children drowned Monday afternoon when they fell into a stock tank near their home. The boys, Eric Wendell Richards, 6, and Kyle Wayne Richards, 5, had gone to play on the ice on the tank when they apparently slipped and fell in.

The boys were found by their mother, Mrs. W. L. Richards, around 1:30 p.m. The death was ruled accidental by drowning.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Blooming Grove.

The Rev. Richard Laster will officiate with the Rev. Denzil Wright assisting. Burial will be at the Rose Hill cemetery in Blooming Grove.

Survivors include their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Richards of Barry; one sister, Mandy Richards of Barry; three grandparents, Mrs. J. W. Hinkle of Blooming Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Richards of Blooming Grove.

Pallbearers will be Jim Garrison, Bobby Armstrong, Glen Hodges, H. Don McGraw, Rex Haggard, Doug Melton, Jackie Farrish and Kenneth Ray Southard.

Any donations are requested to be made to the Band Parents Club of Blooming Grove.

Bradley Funeral Home will direct.
