OBITUARY
L. W. Varnell Dies Monday, Rites Tuesday
BARRY, Aug 14 (Spl) - L. W. Varnell, 79, life-long Barry resident,
retired farmer and cotton buyer, died in Memorial Hospital in
Corsicana Monday morning following a two-week's illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. from the Barry
Baptist church. Burial will be in the
Dresden cemetery.
Varnell formerly served several terms as justice of the peace.
Surviving are his wife: a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Higginbotham: a son,
Percy Varnell: a grandson, Mickie Varnell, all
of Barry: a brother, J. W. Varnell, Corsicana, and a number of
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
