Patterson, Brown To Be Honored At Lone Oak

On April 24, Norman Stubbs will speak to members of Lone Oak Cemetery Association at BG Church of Christ Fellowship Hall after their 12:00 noon covered dish lunch and business meeting. Then the group will be invited to come to Lone Oak Cemetery for a memorial service for War veterans buried in the hallowed grounds.

WILLIAM F. PATTERSON and CATHERINE DUNLAP BROWN will be honored. Patterson is the only known Confederate veteran buried there and Brown is a Conf. widow. Roy Miller will give an eulogy of Patterson's life. Alice Bell will read her composition, "Ode to a Confederate Soldier" and Dana Stubbs will render, "I AM THE SOUTH!" Megan Wilkinson will "lay the wreath". Others on the program include Forrest Green, Rob Jones, Mark Barry and Ronny Mathews.

The public is invited to attend the memorial, at about 1:30 PM.
