SEEK FULL ROSTER WORLD WAR VETERANS BURIED IN OAKWOOD
An effort is being made by the Johnson-Wiggins Post of the American
Legion to secure a complete list of deceased veterans of the World war
that are buried in Oakwood and other cemeteries near Corsicana.
This work has been undertaken by J. A. McMahon, and all those who know
additional veterans who are buried near here are asked to call him at
1154. The list of those known to be buried in Oakwood cemetery follows:
Louis Wiggins, J. B. Cooksey, Charles Johnson, Louis Lynch, Louis
Morris, N. M. Cullen, Leslie Foster, L. D. Alford, Frank Benson, Bud
Steely, Dave Steely, James P. Lumpkins, Robert A. Jones, Charles Neff,
Richard Greenlee, Lt. H. G. Hilliard, J. C. Mayne, Finch L. Garnes, Ves
Arp, Clyde Burnie, Otto Lowery, Dr. W. W. Halbert, and two bodies of men
burned to death in the burning of the Hughes-McKie gusher.
