This is a picture of the John James & Theodocia Williams Varnell home
which was about 2 miles east of Barry just off old Hwy 22. It was
probably made in the early 1920's.

Henry O Varnell Home

The Varnell house you showed brought back many splendid memories.. I grew up in that house.. from around 1948 thru 1962.. it was torn down sometime after '62, just not certain when. When I was there, there had been changes, as this picture shows, taken in the mid-50's..this is what I will always call home, even though mom and dad moved to Barry, next to the Baptist Church Parsonage in '62..

Last night, Mrs. Dorothy-Ann {walton}Wilson contacted me regarding my entry that the house I first thought was a rebuild of the original was incorrect. She lived in the John James house. I lived in the other house, shown below hers, which was owned by Henry O Varnell. I lived there from about 1948 until 1962, at which time my parents, James and Grace Grimmett moveed to Barry, next to the Baptist Church. Thanks and hope this will assist you and others
