1893 Notice to Jury
Sheriff James Melvin Weaver

The person on the note is my Great Great Grandfather Henry Clay Steely. He was born in Muscogee County Ga 1845. And came to Texas around 1870. Then he went to Aspermont TX and bought 400 acres for $1.00 a acre. He died in 1898 and is buried in Aspermont TX. His wife and kids came back to Corsicana. I have some old pictures of  his wife Matilda with H. C Steely's son & wife sitting in front of a log cabin that was were Collins middle school is now. The Steely's had a farm right next to the school.
