DALLAS (CNN) -- Texas storms on Saturday killed at least four people, injured at least eight and forced evacuations from Austin south to San Antonio. Three people were killed in San Antonio floodwaters as 15 inches of rain drenched the area. San Antonio police spokesman Al Ballew said one man and two women were caught in separate incidents when raging floodwaters swept away their cars on rain-swollen roads on San Antonio's north side.
Swollen streams forced evacuations of low-lying areas from Austin and Travis County south to San Antonio. Some sections of Interstate 35 south of San Antonio and New Braunfels were closed at one point by at least 5 feet of standing water, authorities said. In Corsicana, just south of Dallas, a tornado struck an outlying area about 10:30 Saturday morning, killing one person in a mobile home, said a spokeswoman for the Navarro County Sheriff's Department. At least eight people were treated at Columbia Navarro Regional Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. She declined to
describe the nature of their injuries. Notes:
