game was umpired by Mr. Hays Wooster of Roane. Scorers, W. H. Whitlow and James
Southerland. This clipping carries us back 39 years
and will probably be remembered by some of the old timers of baseball fame.
there are only four living members of the Bazette team at present, Ike Walker of
Kerens, Lee Ellison of Oklahoma, Curry Kyser of San Benito, and Pat Garrity of
Corsicana. In the Long Prairie lineup, all are living except C. Howell. C. Byrn
is at present living in Oklahoma, Ballard Day in the Klondike of the gold rush
fame. Will Tremble in Arkansas, Will Dunton in Oklahoma, Noble Melton in Powell,
Texas, Jake Floyd, Kerens, Bud Burt, Embouse, Texas and Dave Freeland in
Corsicana. |
