David BROWN moved his family from Michigan to Texas (believed Corsicana) in 1871. Many years later, his daughter wrote that they were neighbors to another Brown family who "detested us because we were 'Yankees' - but my father discovered he was a cousin to the other Brown family." I would like information about this "other" BROWN family. They were probably from NC/TN. By 1880 David BROWN was in Arkansas.

Have lost contact with descendants of Ellen Reeves Moore SMITH, dau. Tilman H. REEVES and Martha Caroline Montgomery REEVES. Ellen was b. 11 Sept 1874 anddied 7 Nov 1956. She was a sister to my grandmother, Belle Reeves SMITH and I remember going to visit the Smiths on a farm just outside of Blooming Grove in the 1950s and again with my Dad in Corsicana in the 1970s. Seeking information on Nathan Hale and Samuel DAUGHRITY who married sisters - Martha and Jane (Annie) ROBERTSON. Nathan and Martha married in 1878. Descendants of R. Graves BOULDIN are trying to find his place of burial. He was living in Navarro County in 1874 when my grandfather, Berry M. BOULDIN, was born. His family is shown on the 1880 census of Coryell County with his wife's brother, M. SCOTT. He must have died just prior to 1880, either in Navarro or Coryell County. Any help appreciated.

Looking for information on a murder which occurred in Navarro County in 1904; Peter Stephens BOONE was accused of killing an O'PRY/OPRY, kin to John OPRY, who was husband of Mary Rosaline "Ross" BOONE in the Cryer Creek/Barry neighborhood. The court docket states that Pete BOONE was acquitted in May 1905. Am trying to locate a newspaper article, court records, or any other information.

Would like to know if the Georgia ALLEN (listed in the marriage index) is the person who married Carl T. Steen ca 1916/18. He was a doctor who had just moved to Blooming Grove and I feel sure they married there. Her parents were William Dixon ALLEN and Elenora CARROLL. I believe Elenora had a boarding house in Blooming Grove. She was the dau. of Benjamin Franklin CARROLL Jr. and Georgia Anna STOKES. They are bur. Dresden cemetery with two Confederate soldiers named Stokes. Would like to know if they were related to Georgia Anna.

My gr-gr-grandparents, Reuben M. BRAMLET and wife Elizabeth Jane (Cloud?) BRAMLet are enumerated 1860 Navarro County census with one- year-old daughter, Alice J., and one Flora M. CLOUD. The correct spelling of the name is BRAMLET. Reuben paid property taxes 1860-1867 and served Co. I, 19th Tex Cav. He and Elizabeth had four children: Alice (b. 1859); John Henry (b. 1861); Effie, (b. 1864) and Reuben (b. 1870 - my gr-grandfather). This family not found in 1870 Texas census but in 1880 Elizabeth Jane and the four children (not including Reuben) were living in Somervell County. I need information on Reuben's death date and place of burial - supposedly between 1870-1880.

Sam SHIELDS married Ada May "Addie" WOOD before 1907 - date/ place unknown. According to his death record Sam was born in Navarro County (date unknown). Ada was born 1889 in Ark., dau William Glover WOOD and Saphrona Randolph BERRY. Ada and Sam had two ch: Essie Jewel SHIELDS (b. 1907) and William Feldon SHIELDS (b. 1910), who were reared by WOOD grandparents after parents' death. Sam Shields died 13 May 1916 near Kerens; interred Oak Grove Cemetery. Ada m/2 Robert E. SMITH 19 Aug 1916 Henderson Co. Tex. They died four days apart in Henderson Co. during the 1918 influenza epidemic. Any information on Sam Shields appreciated.

HOPE married Lula Elizabeth DORSEY in 1889 and lived in Blooming Grove. Melissa married John ROACH in Navarro County in 1886 and Fannie married Thomas Boyd TURNS in 1882. Lula DORSEY came to Texas ca 1880 from Union Co. Miss. with a brother, James L. DORSEY, who came to Navarro County along with his daughters, Mattie and Eric,and perhaps other siblings. I would like to hear from descendants of any of these people to share and exchange information.

The family moved to Navarro County and had four more known ch: M. E. McCALL, b. ca 1859, believed to have mar. a Mr. LIGHTY; D. L. McCALL, b. ca 1864; William McCALL, b. ca 1866 and S. V. McCALL b. 1869. Sarah Ellinor McCALL died sometime between 1870/1973 since he m/2 1873 Sarah E. WILSON. Martin McCALL died 1925 in Ennis, Ellis County, Tex. Need information on Harmon W. PARKS, b. 1879 Ga. Parents unknown. He married Anna HENDERSON?, b. 1879 Ky. Harmon living in Corsicana 1900 per census with son, Tilford Oscar PARKS, b. March 1900. Tilford was reared by one Wesley H. PARKS - relationship to Harmon not known. We think that perhaps Anna died in Corsicana and Harmon took his son back to Georgia and gave him to Wesley. Any help appreciated.

Looking for information on James Hudson LOVETT, b. 4 Aug 1884; d. Aug. 1968. He is one of 13 children born to Oliver LOVETT and Mary HUDSON. James Hudson Lovett married Fannie/Fanny HODGE. They lived at Powell, Navarro Co. According to family history, Fannie was born ca1885-1895; she died June/July 1965. She was a granddaughter of Anthony and Cora HODGE. James and Fannie Lovett had three sons: Booker T., David C., and Andrew C. Lovett. Any information appreciated but especially interested in birth, death and marriage dates.

They were shown in the 1900 census of Navarro Co: John and wife Canada (Callie), sons Morran 10, Andy, 8, Levy R., 6, Everett C, 4, Earnest 2, and a baby girl, 3 months old, not named. Pictures sent to a family member in Ala. in later years give the names of Bessie Eads? lived Dallas; Everette Warren, lived Troup, Tex., and Callie Warren Lastor{/} lived Fort Worth, Tex. If any member of this family sees this message, please contact me. I have been looking for you for twenty-five years.

Am trying to update information on the CUNNINGHAM Cemetery. There are no markers there. Someone went in with a bulldozer and the gate is padlocked which prevents anyone from looking at the cemetery. I would like to hear from other people who have family buried there. Any information, names, dates, would be appreciated.

Looking for death records/cemetery site for Dr. William Lewis REESE who died 1874/75, supposedly buried Dresden. He and his wife, Mary Jane McGEE came to Navarro Co. from LaGrange/Carrollton, Ga. She died 14 Dec 1888, also supposedly buried Dresden. Some other McGEE families said to be living in Corsicana when this family moved to Navarro Co. [Detailed information on Guest Book Page].

Attempting to locate information on my grandmother, Mamie Jane ---. She told me that she was 1/2 or 1/4 American Indian, b. 1 Aug 1875/78 in Dresden, Tex. Her father died and her mother married a FUGITT (possibly Benj. C. FUGITT from Hill Co.) 12 Oct 1876 who adopted her. Family moved to Dallas where lived on Main St. ca 1877. Her mother's name may have been Mary CARY. Trying to locate marriage record of Mary to Mr. Cary, and also information on the Indian background. Thanks for any help.
