John Stanislaus WERTZ (grandfather) emigrated to Navarro County from Germany a short time before he was shot and killed in Corsicana in 1901. We once had copy of newspaper article detailing this story. It is believed that he started the first bakery in Corsicana which was claimed by another man after his death. He is buried in Corsicana cemetery, but cannot locate site. Any information on this family greatly appreciated.

My grandfather, Fleet Wood SIMS (1873-1919) lived at Dawson and is buried there. He had brother, Fred, and sister, Beulah, (d. 1962) who married Henry DAWSON. Their parents were "Tommy" SIMS and ??? who lived near Spring Hill. Any information appreciated.

Would like more information on these families as I am looking for the husbands of my NAVE girls, Elizabeth and Mary, shown 1880 Henderson Co. Tex. census, who supposedly married a King. They were living with older brother and married sister Martha. A Maggie Nave and B. B. Carlton married in Hamilton County, Tex. Are these the same families?
