Am searching for the parents of Lucinda SMITH, b. 1874 in Texas. She lived in Polk Co. Tex. when she married Angus Jefferson LEWIS. Her parents were born in Miss., her father said to have been a Baptist minister. I would appreciate any help.

James Henry DERDEN, age 80, visits every day with us at Travis Meats, Inc. His mother's maiden name was Gertrude M. BROWN who lived at Emhouse in Navarro County. She died when he was very young and he would like to have a picture of her. I hope someone might recognize this name and have some information. She was married to Archibald? DERDEN. This would mean so much to him. Please help.

Nancy Catherine or Ann LOYD married Meridith Pinkney "Bud" LYNCH 1882 Bedford Co. Tenn. They appear on the 1900 Navarro Co. census. Children: Finis, William Franklin, Janie Frances and Allice Gnoie.[sic] Nancy and Meredith are buried in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Meredith's mother, Letha Jane LYNCH, age 71, was living with the family in 1900. Any information on this family helpful.

My gr-grandfather, SEABORN THORNTON BLAKE moved to Texas from Ala/Ga in mid-1880s and settled at Frost. My father, Winston Blake and his brother, Webster, had some contact with the family in th 1950s and 1970s. One relative is said to have worked in the Frost postoffice. Any information on this family appreciated.

Marilyn Keen My mother, VIRGINIA PARKER KEEN, was reared by her paternal grandparents Jmes Solomon and Mary Ella Stephenson Parker since her parents were divorced. She was with her father, William Kenneth Parker and his parents when he was killed in a plane crash in 1931 near Corsicana/Chatfield. My maternal grandmother, Rheba McDonald Parker, lived in Shreveport, La. Her father was an oil man, Charles H. McDonald. Am trying to find information on him and on my gr-grandmother's mother, Tymoxena Dyer Stephen, who is buried in Bazette Baptist Cemetery.

My grandfather, John Leroy McCage, was killed by lightning July 22, 1908. He was married to Nancy E. Pugh and their daughter, Martha Curtis McCage, was my mother. Martha married Elbert Martin Stewart Feb. 1925. He was the son of James Franklin Stewart; the latter died before 1940 and is buried in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Any information on the Pugh, McCage and Stewart families would be greatly appreciated.

My gr-grandfather was James Reginald HARMAN who grew up in Corsicana. He was a telegraph operator for the railroad where he met his wife, Edna Jessie ADDIS. They married sometime after 1910 and had two children: Virginia Tremble Harman, b. 1914, and James Dudley Harman (birth date not known). J. R. Harman died Aug. 28, 1918. I'd appreciate any info on him, his parents, or any siblings.

Searching for information on the John Stanislaus WERTZ family. He was shot and killed in 1901 on the streets of Corsicana, leaving a wife, Helen Gertrude Corlett, and children, Edith Francis, Leo Joseph, Ernest John, Mary Belle and Gladys. The last four were born in Corsicana. Helen m/2 Edward G. Bennett and had 3 sons, Edward, Phil and Bub.

Searching for information on a "Farmer Church" supposedly located southeast of Emhouse. John Thompson married Katie Alice Poarch in this church ca 1809/10. My mother, "Lovie" Catherine Thompson passed away in 1984 and said she was with John and Katie when they married there. Any help appreciated.

Looking for informationo on actress Mary Brian, whose real name is/was Louise Byrdie Dantzler. According to her bio she was born in Corsicana, Tex. Feb. 17, 1908. My grandfather indicated she was a relative (her father was Benjamin Thompson - evidently not biological). They moved to Los Angles when she became an actress. Any information appreciated.

James H. FORGEY married Jemina GROVE and lived in Blooming Grove. One son, William, married "ARA Page" according to the marriage certificate. According to the family her name was Mintah. They had one son, Ira Thomas, b. 1889, but apparently separated shortly afterward. Any information appreciated.

Seeking information on persons of Gann ancestry. A few of this family lived in Navarro County in mid-to-late 1800s. William Carroll Gann married Sallie Ann Farmer. He lived in the Raleigh area until his death in 1828. His widow (Eugenia Cottongame) as well as several children, stayed in Navarro County. I am seeking descendants of this family.

Searching for information on William ROBERTSON (b. 1832 Ala; d. 1914 Navarro County. Wife was Margret (perhaps Walker) and d. 1899 Dawson. They came to Texas in a wagon Train from Tenn., led by a Mr. Crews. Have been told James Waters Robertson came to Texas with Davey Crockett and died at the Alamo - supposedly same line as William.

Elizabeth Camp Glover, 1829 - 1914, in buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. An obit states she had lived there 27 years with her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Johnson. Mrs. Glover was called "the Mother of the Confederate Reunion" organizing the first at Campellton in Campbell [Fulton] Co. Ga. She was the widow of Lt. Col. Thomas C. Glover, Co. A, 21st Ga. Infantry who was killed in 1864 at the Battle of Winchester, Va. She moved from Ga. to Indian Territory and them Corsicana. Have lots of Camp and Glover information.

Lorenzo Dow WALKER was my gr-gr-grandfather. My father, K. C. Walker, was born in Blooming Grove to Spence and Gara Walker. They had moved from New Albany, Miss. and were staying with an uncle George who would have been a son of Lorenzo. Lorenzo's other known children: Sarah (mar. Addie Elizabeth (Lissie/Lizzie)CAIN/CAINS (1875-1906)married Sylvanus Alonzo NEAL in 1900. She died of blood poisoning in 1906 after having given birth to twins. She and her husband are buried in the Rice Cem. I have had no luck in tracing her but have the NEAL family fairly well documented. She was my grandmother and any help will be appreciated.

My gr-grandfather, George W. VOSS d. 1908 and is buried Oakwood Cem., Navarro County. He did not die in this county. Texas Dept. of Health has no record of a death certificate anywhere in the state. Funeral home records do not indicate where the body was shipped from. He was an employee of the HT&C RR. Railroad records do not go back as far as 1908. Can anyone give me a clue as to where to look now?

Looking for information re gr-grandmother Isabella SLOAN PETTY; who m/1 SLOAN and m/2 William Carroll PETTY prior to 1870 Navarro Co. Oral family history is that Sloan was killed by Indians (maybe Hico) [Hamilton Co] and she went to Navarro Co. with ch: Will Sloan, Mary Ann Sloan (mar. Alva Birdwell) and perhaps George Sloan. One of the children said to have been professor at North Tex University 1940s.

Researching Jay LOWERY who married Miss Etta McCOY June 16, 1907, First Baptist Church [Corsicana?] License was issued in Corsicana and written at the top of license is "Corsicana, Rt. 6, Nav. Co. Tex." The officiating minister was Rev. Giles B. Taylor.
