My gr-grandmother was Cora Cherry of Trinidad and my grandfather was James Buck Williamson, who died in 1974. He lived in Kerens. My gr-grandmother had four brothers, Earl Washburn, Colonel Cherry, Herbert Cherry and Johnny B. Cherry and two sisters Totsy and Lou Airheart [sic]. Would like more information on these families.

Seeking information on any living descendants of Judge Edred James Simkins of Corsicana (house has historical marker). He had five children: Benjamin, Emma, Martha, Frances and J. [Joseph?] S. Am particularly interested in information on Emma , Martha and J. S. They died in Dallas County, but they have no probate on Martha or Emma Simkins, and I find no evidence that they married - but could have missed something. Will be happy to pay any charges that may apply.

Our great-grandfather, Willie Nathan Carpenter, was b. March 16, 1991 and died Feb. 01, 1967 in Corsicana. We don't have any other information except that a brother, Charles Homer Carpenter, was born in 1900 and their father was NB Carpenter. Willie Nathan had son Milton and daughter, Willie Rozella, our gramdmother. Willie married a second time and is thought to have had two sons and two daughters by this marriage . Any information appreciated. We have been looking on the Net for this line since 1999 and just found it last week.

Suggest you contact the Corsicana Sun and/or the Corsicana Library for obituaries. Another source of information might be the funeral home in Corsicana. Probate records provide useful information, as do census records.

My gr-grandparents were John Thomas and Lillian Lloyd Ross. He was born in Laurel, Miss. and died in Corsicana May/June1962. I believe Lillian was born in Tennessee and died in Corsicana in the fall of 1953. Both believed buried in Corsicana. Their children: Oretha Mae Brooks, Lottie Dee Kilcrease, Lloyd Ross, George Bunn Ross and Clovis Earl Ross. I would like any information on her family - the Lloyds and will be happy to share information.

Jacqueline Logan was born Nov. 30, 1901 in Corsicana , Texas. Her mother was an opera singer and her father an architect. The popular silent screen star was the most beautiful woman in Hollywood during her heyday in the 1920s. She was been married twice and had no children. She was working at the John Birch Society in New York City before she moved to Melbourne, Fla. where she died April 4, 1983, age 78. Would like information on her siblings and parents.

Raymond Tomlin d. Jul 1987 McAllen Tex (b. 12-31-1906). Parents: Isom David (b. 2-13-1875; d.? and Mary of Tenn. I have the family 1910 and 1920 Navarro Co. census pct 1. Ray, as he was called, was my uncle. He married Madelene Young (b. 2-29-1916; d. 12-1-1999, McAllen, Tex.), my father's sister. Any information appreciated.

Searching for a Norman Lee Fogel, whom I believe was the son of Cornelia Fogel (dau of a Mrs. Lillian Oransky who d. NavCo ca 1960). I think Lillian had a son, Merril, who lived Chicago. I am tring to locate heirs of Cornelia and Merrill as the owned property in Freestone Co. [Tex] which theyinherited from Lillian Oransky, sister of Frankie Freedman.

Seeking information on Wilcox Kennemore families. My grandfather was Matthew Oneal Wilcox who married Jacel Owens. His parents were Arthur Wilcox and Mary Kennemore. Mary's father, Matthew O'Neal Kennymore, worked for the Nav.Co. jail in Corsicana. My mother and father are from Corsicana as are most of my aunts, uncles and cousins. Any information appreciated.

Looking for information on the McCord Cemetery located outside of Frost, Tex. I am the grandson of Powell McCord, who lived in Frost and was a WWI veteran before moving to Dallas shortly after the War. Any information on the family will be appreciated.
You may be related to the McCord-Hightower families who lived in the Frost area. One Martha McCord married NavCo 1861 Charnell B. Hightower who is bur in the McCord Cem as are others of this family.

My father, John Wallace Crethers, says that his father was born in Navarro Co and ran away as a teenager to join a cattle ranch in Cuba in the early part of the 20th century. I only know my grandfather called his father "Red Crethers"; his mother was either of Mexican or Indian descent; died when he was a boy and he did not get along with his stepmother. Around the end of the 19th Century my gr-grandfather had a ranch in NavCo. Any information on the Crethers familhy would be appreciated.

Looking for information on Robert Davis Terry and wife, Sarah "Sallie" Texanna Turner Terry. Robert was b. ca Jan 1864 in Ga. and d. after 1920, possibly NavCo. Tex. Sarah was b. Jan. 24, 1870 and died bet 1910-Feb. 1920, probably in NavCo. The family seems to have moved from Lickskillet Dist. Cherokee Co. Ga. to NavCo. Tex. between 1908-1910. Believed to have had 10 ch, last five b. Tex (James W., Luther d., Ella Myrtle, Alonzo E., John F., Enoch A, William D. Clyde R., Augusta G. and Narcissa). Any information appreciated.

Need information on H. P. Darlin/Darling 1860 Nav. Co. Census. In 1866 Dan B. Hartzell was admr of Darling's estate. Surname has been misread as Davlin/Doolin in some records.

Looking for information on James Monroe Blackwell listed 1930 Navarro Co. census. Was the Mrs. J. M. Blackwell who died 6-11-1914 his first wife? He had sons Vernon and James A. Blackwell. James Monroe Blackwell married Callie Day 1919 in Navarro County and had one son, James M. Blackwell, Jr.

Looking for information on Joe (Joseph) and Steve (Steano) Palmeri families. According to their sister's death notice in 1937, they were then living in Corsicana, Tex. Their sister is Annie Palmeri Ferruggia of Houston, Tex. They were born in Italy or Roccamena. Have information to share.

Looking for John Stanislaus Wertz married to Helen Gertrude Corlett. Their children: Edith Francis Wertz/Stubbs, Leo Joseph Wertz, Ernst John Wertz, Mary Belle Wertz/Mayben and Gladys Wertz, all born Corscana, except oldest who was b. Emporia, Kan. John was a baker and was shot and killed while walking down the street in the city [Corsicana?] I need to know where to look for records on him. I believe that Helen m/2 John Edward Bennett and had three sons. Am also looking for Martha Irene Land, b. Corsicana 1894 to John M. Land and M. Annie Tyler. Thanks so much.

Looking for information on my Harris line. Am not sure when they first arrived in NavCo. I cannot locate them on any census prior to 1880. In that census they are enumerated as Callie Harris, widow, b. Ala.; with ch Willie, Waters, Inez and Thomas (all b. Tex.) Inez, my gr-grandmother, mar. Charles Ernest Love. I do not find a marriage record for her in NavCo. She is bur Campbell-Elrod Cemetery next to her son Waters and his wife. Any help appreciated.

My grandfather, John Leroy McCage married Kate Davis (per 1879 census) [1880?] In 1894 he married Nancy (Nannie) Edna Pugh. They had three children: Samuel Vivian, Mary Louise and my mother, Martha Curtis McCage (b1904). J. L. McCage was killed by lightning July 1908; he lived and died in Angus. I have been searching for years for information on him - where he was from, parents, siblings, etc. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Am researching my gr-gr-uncle James Douglas Ogilby (also known as J. Douglas Ogilby). He visited Navarro Co. Tex. from Ireland 1879-1881. He was a Natural Scientist and published "Catalogue of Birds obtained in Navarro Co. Texas" in 1883 in the Scientific Proceedings Royal Dublin Society. I have no records of his visit to the U. S. and wondered if there would be any mention in Navarro County records. Any help appreciated.

I am trying to find information on an ancestor of mine who settled in Navarro County and died there (death dates unknown). Allen Young was an attorney, born ca 1840, probably in Leake Co., Miss. He married Salome/Salomy C. Harris, born 6 Mar 1845 Leake Co., Miss. I only know they had these children:James, George, John, William, born between 1869 and 1879 in Leake Co., Miss. They were still in the Walnut Grove, Leake, Miss., area in 1877 because of signatures on a land deed. They are reportedly buried in Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Navarro County. Salome's brother, James Luther Harris also migrated and settled in the same area.

Note: We are unable to find a marker in the Cemetery Records for Allen Young. Please contact Betty if you have any information on Allen Young. ...elw

I live in Huntingdon, Tennessee. My father, James Haywood Conway, was living Blooming Grove, Tex. when he died March 1975. He is bur Ross Hill Cem. Blooming Grove. He left my mother when I was 7 years old, remarried and lived Blooming Grove several years prior to his death. This may be way-out but I wonder if someone in that area could make a digital photo of his grave site and email it to me. It would be greatly appreciated.
