School closed here
on May 20. Members of the 1932 graduating class who were presented
diplomas by Superintendent W. O. Griffin on Wednesday night, May 18,
were: Mary Roloff, valedictorian; Beatrice Garner, salutatorian;
Maggie Sawyer, Florene Tanner, Leoda Richardson, Berniece Smith, Eva
and Ella Frances Hardin. The program for the night was as follows:
Processional.
Salutatory, by
Beatrice Gardner Class song "Dear Old Days."
The "class will,"
by Maggie Sawyer.
Valedictory by Mary
Roloff.
Then followed the
address by Clay Nash, of Corsicana, and afterward a speech and, the
presentation of diplomas by Superintendent W. O. Griffin.
The "grades"
program sponsored by Misses Keith, Simpson and Mrs. W. O. Griffin
and Mrs. Hurst on Thursday night of last week was well attended and
enjoyed very much by the patrons. : The seventh grade graduation
exercisse were held on Friday night of last week. The class roll was
as follows: Francis Sanders, Reba Seals, Estelle Moore, C. D. Wiley,
Johnnie Baldin, J. D. Bailey, Eva Hawthorne, Odessa Burleson, Edward
DeMoney, Joe Graham, Aubrey Bruce, and Walter Whisenant.
