WORTHAM SCHOOL EXERCISES BE HELD
WEDNESDAY EVENING
WORTHAM, May
22.—(Spl. ) — The graduates of the Wortham high school will receive
their diplomas May 22 at eight o'clock, in the Wortham High school
audiotrium. The presentation will be made by Oliver Burleson,
president of the board of trustees.

Crenshaw; instrumental solo, Stewart Jernigan; salutatory, M. A.
Riley, Jr., "Robin Sing a Merry Tune", Mrs. Dick Wimberley, Mrs.
John Munroe, accompanist: valedictory, Miss Margaret Weaver;
presentation of diplomas and awarding honors, Oliver Burleson,
president of the school board. Xylophone. solo, Marjorie Jones,
Benediction, Rev. C. A. Geco.
Billie
Poindexter, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Poindexter was winner of the
Balfour medal, awarded to the best all-around student for
scholarship, loyalty and achievement, based on an average of four
years high school. This is the fifth time the medal has been won,
the other winners being Erin Newell, Oscar Edward Bounds. Marjorie
Jones and Lillie Roark Meador.
