DEDICATION

DEDICATION – To show our
appreciation for understanding, patience, and guidance, we, the
students of Barry High School, dedicate this 1951-52 edition of
the Eagle to Mr. J. W. Allen, our coach.
PURPOSE OF THE YEARBOOK –
This book was produced to give you the best book of memories we
as a few students could possibly give. It was our purpose to
record the events of the school year in such a way as to keep
these memories for years to come. This book is not without error
nor does it include all the memories you may have but it does
represent a cross section of our school life as it existed in
1952.

Senior Class Prophecy – My
goodness! How time changes everything! By a method, known only
to me, I took a look into the future. Maybe I can share some of
the scenes with you.
Naomi Henderson, who said
that she would never leave the farm, has married and has 17
children on a five acre farm.
Margaret Moore, who was to
be married in August, 1952, is still wearing that Hubbard jacket
and is still hoping.
James Coker, whose rich
uncle died and left him five million dollars in 1962, is now
fighting to stay out of the poorhouse.
Jack Harris, in 1962 is
still driving his beat-up Nash all over the state of Texas
looking for the right girl.
Jerry Grimmett, soon after
graduating from school, went to work at the R.C. plant, putting
in his 10 hours a day. By the way he is still borrowing money
from Clyde to buy gas for the ’36.
Class Will – We, the
Seniors of Barry High School, Class of 1952, being of sound mind
(?) and body, will to the people who will following our steps as
Seniors in the coming years-
James Coker wills to
Don Parks his ability to be loud in class and wart the
teachers.
Naomi Henderson wills to
Glenda Farmer her ability to play basketball and all her
troubles.
Jack Harris wills to
Ray Dillard his ability to comb his hair and wear his
basketball suit to the ball games.
Margaret Moore wills to
Syble Bowling her ability to make good grades and her
brother, Lewis.
Jerry Grimmett wills to
Paul “Wimp” Childress the ability to grow whiskers and
the habit of shaving every day of the week.
