| Dedication Mr. Douglas
More affectionately known to the students and faculty as "Doug" he has ably
served as principal of Corsicana High for the past eleven years. His
understanding of human nature has made him the friend and advisor of every
student.
He received his B.A. degree in mathematics at N.T.S.T.C. and has done
graduate work in the Universities of Texas and Colorado. Before coming to
Corsicana in 1922, he taught in Edgewood and Leonard. A capable math
teacher and basketball coach for nine years. Doug was made principal in
1931.
He readily admits that he is worried about the war, and sincerely hopes
that we can win it without the loss of too many lives. His hobby is
horseback riding, and his favorite pastimes are picnics and football games.
Among every student's fondest memories of C.H.S. will be Mr. Douglas'
whole hearted support in any student activity, his sympathetic understanding of
our difficulties, and that afmous phrase of his "Pass to your fifth-period
class."
