"Vision of a pure heart" was the
subject of the baccalaureate sermon
delivered by Rev. V. W. Wallace to
the graduating class of State
Home at the First Christian church
Sunday morning.
The minister made special refer-
ence to the fifth chapter of the New
Testament doctrine as found in St.
Matthew.
"Keep thy heart with all diligence
for out of it are the issues of life
quoth the speaker, declaring the heart
meant the mind, which at all times
governed the acts of men.
The pure heart and mind, he de-
clared, saw no evil, thought no evil
and was an ever safeguard to right-
eousness.
Special music was rendered by the
boys and girls' glee club, which occu-
piedthe choir rostrum, directed by
Miss Hallie Sadler, teacher of the
Home.
Virgil Thompson, member of the
graduating class, introduced the
class, composed of a total of fifteen
members. Invocation was pronounc-

The services were combined with
the revival now in progress at the
church. The invitation was extend-
ed and twelve auditions were made to
the church. Uniting with the church
were five boys of the senior class.
Two former members of the church
re-dedicated their lives to church
work and were extended the right
hand of fellowship.
A very large audience was in at-
tendance with much interest manif-
ested in the services.
"Blessed are the pure in heart for
they shalt see God." (Matt. 5.8), urg-
ed the speaker in addressing the
graduates.
The minister said he would hold up
no man other than the Jesus Christ
Son of God, as the ideal for the
young minds that had now completed
their high school work and were of
the threshold of carving put a place
in the world. He stressed the
Christ's Sermon on the Mount to
