FORMER STUDENT OF STATE HOME SCHOOL SPEAKS
GRADUATES
COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES HELD AT HOME FRIDAY EVENING
Moyne Kelly, Austin, former student of the State Home delivered the
address at the commencement exercises for the graduating class of
the State Home High School Friday night. He reviewed the past
accomplishments of the Home in training of the students and told the
graduating class that they should be proud of the opportunities
given them. He urged them to go out and accomplish great things in
their own name and thereby reflect glory of the Home.
Mr. Kelly graduated from the Home 25 years ago Friday night.
The salutatory and valedictory addresses were given by Jean Rigsby
and Ernest Roberts, respectively, honor students of the class.
An interesting program included musical selection by the orchestra,
a violin solo by Mary Evelyn Dean, a vocal solo by Evon Johnson and
other features had been prepared for the occasion.
Ernest Roberts won first place in the short story writing contest
sponsored by the Kelton family and second place went to Billie Jean
Oliver.
