TWELVE GRADUATES STATE HOME HIGH TO GET DIPLOMAS
Twelve members of the Senior class of 1944 of the State Home High
School are to receive their diplomas Friday evening from
Superintendent Moyne L. Kelly. Following the Commencement address by
Dr. Joseph R. Riggs of the State Department of Education.
Members of the class who will receive their diplomas are: Charles
Ausley, J. B. Carrington, Joe Johnson, David Maxwell, Francelle
Canady, Lometa Crawford, Marforie Dool, Billie Maxine Downey, Maudie
Jones, Mary Steffler, Dwaine Gregory and Billy Smith. Students who
will be awarded diplomas in absentia due to previous calls to the
armed services are: Dillard Rawls, U. S. N., stationed in Tennessee;
Weldon Smith, stationed in the A. S. T. and P. Training school,
Stillwater, Oklahoma; Hugh Bob Lawrence, serving in the Air Corps at
Amarillo, Texas; and Harlan Howard, U. S. N. stationed at Corpus
Christi.
