POWELL GRADUATION
PLANS COMPLETED;
TWELVE IN CLASS
POWELL. May 23.—(Spl.)—
Plans have been completed for
the graduation exercises of the
seniors of Powell High school. On
Sunday morning, May 24, the
baccalaureate sermon will be delivered
by the Rev. W. M. Justice
of Chatffeld.
Commencement will be on the
following Wednesday night, with
Hon. Mike Reinhardt of Rockwall,
county judge of Rockwall
county, as the speaker.
Exercises for grammar school
have been renewed this year.
Graduation will be on Thursday
night with the speaker being Hon.
Miles B. Smith, Athens, county
attorney of Henderson county.
There are 12 seniors graduating:
Ruth White, president- Myrtle
Gorman, vice president: Kather-
ine Redford, secretary-treasurer;
Henry B. Washam, reporter; Jewel
Varner, Charline Horn; J. R.
Bush, Shirley Lowe, Samuel C.
Washam, Gerald Massey, Urban
Scroggins and Alice Varner.
Henry B. Washam is valedictorian
with a four-year average of 95.
Jewel Varner is salutatorian, with
an average of 91 plus.
