Alexis Jade Barron Don and Brenda Barron of Corsicana proudly announce the birth of their first granddaughter, Alexis Jade Barron, born at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at Detar Navarro Hospital in Victoria. 1/2/2003 FIRST BABY OF 2003: Tiffany and Steve Morgan welcome first child, a son, on New Year's Day By LOYD COOK/Daily Sun Staff It wasn't a long wait, either for the parents or for the annual watch to see when the first Navarro County baby born in the new year. Tiffany and Steve Morgan are the first parents of the new year. Tiffany gave birth to Navarro County's first 2003 baby, a boy. Jared Thomas Morgan weighed in at 7 pounds and 11 ounces. He was 19 1/2 inches long at birth. Jared is the Morgans' first child. Mom and Dad didn't have to wait too long for his arrival. Tiffany went into labor about 8:30 p.m. New Year's Eve. "I wasn't sure at first," she said. "I didn't know if it was contractions or not." It soon became apparent that Jared didn't want to wait until Mom's due date of Jan. 6. Steve said he and his wife were already prepared, however, complete with a packed bag with the necessities for Tiffany. They went to Navarro Regional Hospital where Jared was born at 2:50 a.m. Dr. Neal Green was on call and delivered the baby. The presence of Dr. Green was considered a lucky occurrence by the Morgans. Dr. Green had been Tiffany's doctor throughout her pregnancy. Tiffany progressed rapidly through labor. "It was quick, no time for drugs or anything," Tiffany said. "It was all natural." Steve is the owner of Corsicana's Texas Show Supply while Tiffany is a fourth grade teacher in the Avalon Independent School District. "I always knew I would (have kids)," Steve, 33, said. "But I had to find the right woman first." He and Tiffany have been married for three and a half years. Jared's maternal grandparents are Karen Becker and Joseph Zoyhofski, both of New York. His paternal grandparents are Marlene and Wayne Morgan of Emhouse. Maternal great-grandmothers are Jeanette Wilfred Becker of Florida and Eloise Zoyhofski of New York. Jared's paternal great-grandfather was the late Albert Marvin Show, who passed away a couple of months ago, Steve said. Tiffany said Jared's arrival "balances" the boy-girl ratio of grandchildren for Steve's side of the family, with the total now being three each.
