MELTON-MOSS
Corsicana Observer, Jan. 7, 1874
Married:
On the 21st ult. Mr. Elijah Melton,
Jr. to Miss Julia C. Moss. The ceremony took place at the residence of Rev. John Green,
and the bonds celebrated by him. Alas! poor Ligs, thrice you have met loveley woman at
the hymenial alter, and thrice you have made the solemn vow. It is said that the third time is
the charm, and surely you have it this time. If you have it not, it is no fault of your,
for surely you have done your duty.
"The maid that loves Goes
out to sea upon a shatter'd plank, And puts her trust in miracles for safety."

ELLIOT-HUCHERSON
Corsicana Observer, Feb 25, 1874
Married,
On the evening of the 18th inst., at
the residence of the bride's father, in Corsicana, Mr. C. Kennedy Elliot and Miss Leah
Hucherson. No cards. It was our good fortune to witness the ceremony uniting these two as
one. The ceremony was impressive, and was witnessed by a number of friends of both bride
and groom. The guest partook of an elegant supper, and as we swallowed champagne with our
friends, the following sentiments were undoubtedly felt by the beautiful bride towards her
future liege lord:
"I bless thee for the moble
heart,
The tender and the true,
Where mine hath found the happiest reat
That e'er fond woman's knew;
I bless thee, faithful friend and guide,
For my own, my treasur'd share,
In the mournful secrets of thy soul,
In the sorrow and thy care."
The happy couple left on the 9
o'clock train for Dallas, which is to be their future home.

This wedding has, for some time past,

Mr. B. Meyer and Mr. A. Shwarts acting in behalf of the groom's parents, and Mrs. B. Meyer

Among the visitors were Mr. B. Beyer
and lady, Dallas; H. Marcus, Marlin; A. Mitchell, I. Popper, A. Carroll and B. Freeman,
Ennis; C. Adler, Atlanta, Ga.; L. Weiss and M. Heilboun, New York. The happy groom has
taken:
"With him hope in rank, a

Of cheerful look, and lovely to behold;"
And from our hearts we only wish them
