PARKINSON - Mrs. Nancy G. Parkinson, age 74, died Sunday at the residence, 3418 Lattimer, born in Mississippi, resident of Dallas thirty-two years.
Survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Bevill, Mrs. W. A. Black, Mrs. Mattie Ewing; two sons, Pat Parkinson and Jack Parkinson; fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, all of Dallas. Services will be held Monday 1 p. m. Oakwood Cemetery, Corsicana, Texas. Arrangements Guardian Funeral Home.

Corsicana Native Dies at Houston
HOUSTON, Texas, Nov. 23 (AP). - Fred Parks, 55, division sales manager for Bethlehem Supply Company, died early Sunday at his Houston home.
A native of Corsicana, Parks had resided here twelve years.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Marie Parks, Houston; two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Walker, Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Bill P. Neale, Gladewater; a son, Roger Parks, Houston; a sister, Mrs. George S. McLellan, Denver, Colo., and a brother, Leonard Parks, Waxahachie.
Funeral services and burial will be held here Tuesday.

Confederate Veteran Expires at Corsicana
CORSICANA, Texas, March 21 - Funeral services for Marion Jefferson Parnell, 88, retired Methodist minister and
Confederate veteran, who died here Saturday night were held here Sunday afternoon.
He had been a minister sixty years and was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge sixty-seven years.
Surviving are two sons, four daughters, twenty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SUNDAY FOR REV. M. J. PARNELL
CONFEDERATE VETERAN AND FORMER LOCAL PASTOR PASSED AWAY SATURDAY
Funeral services for Rev. Marion Jefferson Parnell, aged 88 years,
Confederate veteran and retired Methodist Protestant minister, who died
at his home, 1327 West Thirteenth avenue, Saturday night, were held from
the Methodist Protestant church Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock with
burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
The rites were conducted by Rev. M. B. Howell, pastor of the church.
The Rev. Mr. Parnell was a familiar figure here for many years and
served as pastor of the local Methodist Protestant church until
advancing years and ill health caused his retirement from active
service. He was an active member in Camp Winkler, United Confederate
Veterans, and attended many of the annual reunions of that organization.
He had been a minister for 60 years and had held membership in the
Masonic lodge for 67 years.
Masons had charge of the rites at the grave.
Surviving are two sons, P. L. Parnell, Oakwood, and Ernest Parnell,
Edom; four daughters, Mrs. W. C. Ralston, Corsicana; Mrs. George
Kuykendall, Corsicana; Mrs. Maude Daniels, Grapeland, and Mrs. Ruby
Shearer, Malakoff; 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were T. J. York, M. W. Jones, Aubrey Franklin, Floyd Kuntz,
Ed Childress and John H. Bryant.
Corley Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED.
Remains of Pioneer Citizen Laid to Rest This Morning.
The remains of the late William Parrish, who died at his home three
miles west of town at an early hour yesterday morning were laid to rest
in the Cunningham cemetery four miles west of Corsicana at 10 o’clock
this morning. The funeral was largely attended by people from Corsicana,
Emhouse, Angus, Rice and Blooming Grove, and by the near neighbors of
the deceased.
The funeral was under the direction of C. B. Sutherland, and Rev. E. T.
Jones of Cook’s School House community, Rev. W. J. Lackey of Rice and
Rev. Geo. Norcross of Corsicana officiated. There were many beautiful
floral offerings, and a spirit of genuine sadness pervaded the great
throng in attendance.

Parrish - Corsicana, Texas, July 8. - William Parrish, aged 83 years, and a citizen of Navarro County for sixty-three years, died at this home near the States Orphan's Home at an early hour this morning. The decedent came to Navarro County in 1852 from Alabama. He is survived by a wife and four children, as follows; Joe and Nick Parrish of Emhouse and Misses Addie and Sudie Parrish.

CORSICANA, Texas, Sept 28. - Funeral services for Miss Mayme Patrick of Mobile, Ala., formerly of Corsicana, who died in New York Wednesday, will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Denton at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Miss Patrick was principal of Oakdale School in Mobile, Ala., at the time of her death. She
formerly taught at Milwaukee State Teachers College, North Texas State Teachers College, Alabama College for Women, Alabama University and Teachers' Workshop at Orlando, Fla. She was a graduate of North Texas State Teachers College and received a master degree from Columbia University.

AGED RESIDENT
William Newton Patterson, aged 78 years, native of Tennessee, but
resident of Navarro county 38 years, died at the home of his son, B. A.
Patterson, 1300 West Fourteenth avenue, Saturday afternoon at 5:05
o’clock, following a stroke of paralysis Friday. He had been in feeble
health for some time.
The funeral was held from the residence Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock
with burial in the Prairie Point Cemetery.
The services were conducted by Rev. J. L. Hines, Church of Christ
minister, assisted by Rev. R. A. Crosby, pastor of the Eleventh Avenue
Methodist church.
Surviving are 6 sons, H. R. Patterson, Herford; B. A. Patterson, E. A.
Patterson, C. A. Patterson and N. F. Patterson, all of Corsicana; and P.
V. Patterson, Houston; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

KERENS RITES HELD FOR WESLEY M. PAUL, PIONEER RESIDENT
KERENS, June 14, - (Spl.) - Funeral services for Wesley M. Paul,
aged 75 years, who died at his home in Rural Shade Friday night at
10:40 o'clock after a long illness, were held Saturday afternoon
from the Stockton Funeral chapel. Burial was in the
Long Prairie
cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. T.R. Vaughn of Trinidad.
Born in Alabama, he came to Texas 65 years ago and had been a farmer
in the Rural Shade community for many years. He was a member of the
Rural Shade Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Addie Paul, Rural Shade; six sons,
A.M., H. J., Melvin, Wayne and Rowe Paul, all of Kerens, and J.M.
Paul, Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Ola Montgomery, Fort Worth; Miss

CORSICANA, Texas, Feb. 10 - William Edward Patterson, 54, resident of Navarro County for thirty years, died at Corpus Christi. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Baptist Church at Pursley and burial was made in the
Pursley Cemetery. The I. O. O. F. Lodge had charge of the services at the grave. Surviving are his wife, four children, Burt S. Patterson of Corpus Christi, W. B. Patterson of Waco, Mrs. Laura Waddell of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Agnes Stoffregen of Corpus Christi.

NAVARRO COUNTY DIES CORPUS CHRISTI
William Edward Patterson, aged 54 years, resident of
Navarro county for 30 years, died at the emergency
hospital in Corpus Christi Wednesday afternoon at
1:30 o’clock and the remains reached Corsicana at an
early hour Friday morning. The funeral services were
conducted Friday afternoon at the Baptist church at
Pursley and interment was made in the
Pursley Cemetery.
The I. O. O. F. Lodge had charge of the services at
the grave. He was a member of the Kerens I. O. O. F.
Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, four children, Burt S.
Patterson, Corpus Christi; W. B. Patterson, Waco;
Mrs. Laura Waddell, Corpus Christi; Mrs. Agnes
Stoffregen, Corpus Christi.

Mr. William E. Patterson was born in Polk county, Arkansas, on Feb. 22,
1875. He was married to Miss Clara Jordon in Sept., 1894 in Clark
county, Ark. He moved to Texas with his wife a few monthes after he was
married and settled at Pursley in Navarro county. He was the father of
eight children, four of whom died in infancy, the others, two sons and
two daughters are living and have families, Bert C Patterson of
Kingsville, Texas, William B. Patterson of Waco, Texas, Mrs. Lora
Waddell and Mrs. Agnes Viola Stoffergen of Chapman Ranch, Texas. Brother
Patterson’s wife died March 1st, 1913, and he was married to Mrs. Carrie
Frederick, who never having any children of her own, became a true
loving faithful mother to his children, and until his death she stood by
him and the children with her prayers and all the love and sympathy of a
true wife and mother.
He professed faith in Christ when he was about thirty years old and
united with the Baptist church at Pursley and was ordained a deacon
which office he filled in the church until his death. He was a member of
the I. O. O. F. lodge at Kerens, Texas.
He moved to Chapman Ranch, Texas, three and a half years ago and was a
fine faithful worker in the Baptist church there. He died Feb. 8, 1928.
Funeral services were held by Rev. W. A. Strickland of Chapman Ranch,
Texas, and Rev. W. A. Corkern, Kerens, Texas.
He leaves a wife, Mrs. Carrie Patterson of Chapman Ranch, Texas, two
sons, two daughters, three brothers and two sisters and a host of
friends to mourn his departure.

PATTON - Amarillo, Texas. July 18. - Mrs. Kate Patton, 59, died Sunday night at the family home, 1100 Taylor street, after an illness of a year. She was a pioneer resident of Amarillo and prominent in church and charity work. She was a sister of Charles Green and mother of Dr. Louis K. Patton of this city. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church by Dr. R. Thomson and the body was sent to Corsicana for burial.

Mrs. K. K. Patton, who was reared in Corsicana, died last night in
Amarillo after many months of ill health, and the remains will reach
here at 10:50 in the morning over the Houston and Texas Central
railroad, and the funeral will take place from the depot with
interment in Oakwood. The services will be conducted by Rev. R.
Girard Lowe and J. C. Moran. J. C. Hughes, Murphy Williams, H. O.
Blanding, Dr. L. C. Polk and E. T. Wareing will act as pallbearers.
The deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. F. Stout and Mrs.
A. J. Wareing and by two brothers, C. L. Green of Amarillo and Macon
Green of Athens. She had a host of friends here who are pained to
learn of her death.

Funeral services for John W. Payne, 53, native of Navarro County,
resident of Pedras Negras, Mexico, for the past 26 years, who died
Thursday night in Mexico, were held from the Pursley Church of Christ
Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock with burial in the
Ward cemetery. The rites were

Mr. Payne was fatally shot from ambush Thursday night according to
information received here, but particulars of the slaying have not been
received by relatives, it was stated.
He was a graduate of Corsicana high school and the University of Texas,
and had been engaged in ranching in Mexico for a number of years.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Reba Payne, Emhouse; two brothers, C. M.
Payne, Pursley, and Mat Payne, Dallas; and three sisters, Mrs. Lela
Dobbs, Rice; Mrs. John Charpley, Emhouse; and Miss Lucy Payne, Fort
Worth.

Testing Laboratory Manager Stricken
Heart Attack Takes Life of Business Head
A sudden heart attack in his office in the Santa Fe Building about 3 p.m. Saturday proved fatal to Matthew Payne, 55, of 7012 Lakewood, vice-president and manager of the Pittsburgh Testing Laboratory of Texas. He died before medical aid could reach him.
Mr. Payne had lived in Dallas, with the exception of three years, since coming here in 1913 with the Pittsburgh company from Corsicana. He was well known over the state.
Except for his business, his chief interest was in hunting and raising registered cattle. He owned two farms near Gunter, Grayson County, and one at Forney, Kaufman County.
Born in Pursley, Navarro County, Mr. Payne attended the University of Texas and later went to Mexico for a shot time on an engineering project before moving to Corsicana.
He was a Mason and a member of the Dallas Technical Club and the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Inez Calhoun Payne; a son, Clyde M.Payne of Ennis, and three daughters, Miss Lucy Payne of Fort Worth, Mrs. John Sharpley of Houston and Mrs. Leila Dobbs of Rice, Navarro County.
Funeral services have been set tentatively for Monday afternoon in the Weiland Funeral Church, with burial in Restland Memorial Park.

Matthew Payne, 55, of 7012 Lakewood,
vice-president and manager of the Pittsburg Testing Laboratory of Texas,
died of a sudden heart attack in his office in the Santa Fe Building

CORSICANA, Texas, Nov. 7. - Final rites for Mrs. J. T. Payne, 77, formerly of Navarro County, who died in a hospital at Athens, were held Thursday at the Corley Chapel.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, E. E. Payne, Corsicana; two daughters, Mrs. L. E. Griffin, Houston, and Mrs. Ila Jones, Athens; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. J. T. Payne, 77, former resident of this vicinity, died in Memorial
Hospital in Athens Wednesday night.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. from the Corley Chapel.
Burial was in
Oakwood cemetery.
The rites were conducted by Rev. Wilson Cowlie and Rev. Hopkins, both of
Athens.
Surviving are a son, E. E. Payne, Corsicana; two daughters, Mrs. L. E.

Two Men Killed, Third Injured as Train Hits Auto

CORSICANA, Texas, Jan. 30. - Two men were dead and a third was in a Corsicana hospital as a result of a collision between an automobile containing the trio and the engine of a southbound Southern Pacific passenger train a few blocks from the railway station about 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
Robert Payne, aged 26, of Cryer Creek, was killed almost instantly, dying before he could be taken to a hospital.
Charlie Jordan, 45, died about four hours later as a result of severe head and facial injuries.
The third man, John A. Nicholson, 26, also of Cryer Creek, was reported in a serious condition as a result of a broken collarbone, a badly injured leg and other hurts.
The car was demolished. The passenger train proceeded to Houston after a twenty-minuet delay.

One man was killed and two seriously injured shortly before 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon when the car in which they were riding
figured in a collision with the southbound Sunbeam passenger train of the Southern Pacific Lines at the intersection of East Third
avenue. Robert Payne, aged 26 years, of Cryer Creek, was killed. Charlie Jordan, about 45, of Corsicana, sustained a broken jaw and
cheekbone and other injuries. John A. Nicholson, 26, of Cryer Creek, brother-in-law of Jordan, suffered a broken collar bone, a badly
hurt leg and other injuries. Nicholson and Jordan were taken to the Corsicana Hospital and Clinic in a Sutherland-McCammon ambulance.
The exact extent of their injuries had not been determined at press hour. It was reported the car in which the three were riding was
proceeding In an easterly direction; at the time of the accident. Payne's body was taken to the Sutherland - McCammon Funeral Home and
prepared for burial. No funeral arrangements had been made early in the afternoon. Surviving are his wife, one child, Cryer Creek; father,
Joe Payne, Blooming Grove; a, sister and other relatives. The train was in charge of J. H. Kent, conductor, of Houston, and was delayed here 20 minutes following the accident.

Funeral services for Robert Wylie Payne, 26, Cryer
Creek, and Charles Robert Jordan, 45 Corsicana, who were fatally

afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dresden church with burial in the
Dresden cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. Paul Utley,
pastor of the Blooming Grove Methodist Church. Payne died within a
few minutes alter the accident. Jordan died in the Corsicana
Hospital and Clinic Tuesday night. John A Nicholson, 26, Cryer
Creek, is in the clinic with a broken collarbone and severe leg and
head injuries. He was the third occupant of the car. The accident
which cost the two lives occurred at the intersection of the
railroad and East Third Avenue. The auto was reported to have been
traveling east at the time of the accident. The car was demolished.
Surviving Payne are his wife, one child, parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J.

DAMAGE SUITS ARE FILED AGAINST SP CONNECTION CRASH RAILROAD
COMPANY MADE DEFENDANT IN ACTION SEEKING $36,380
Three damage suits asking an aggregate of $36, 380 damages of The
Texas and New Orleans Rail- road Company (Southern Pacific Lines)
were filed in the Thirteenth judicial district court Wednesday by
Davis, Jester and George, law firm by John Nicholson, Lucille Payne
and Maggie Jordan in connection with the injuring of John Nicholson
and the deaths of Robert Wylie Payne and Robert Charles Jordan when
the car in which the three men were riding figured in a collision
with a Southern Pacific Lines train on East
Third Avenue, January 30, 1934. Nicholson, driver of the car,
received serious injuries and is seeking $(not legible) ,510
damages. Lucille Payne is the widow of Robert Wylie Payne and is
suing for $20,577.50 on behalf of herself and her little son, Bobby
Wendel Payne. Maggie Jordan is the widow of Robert Charles Jordan
and is seeking $13,272.50. It is alleged the train figuring in the
accident was proceeding in a southerly direction and the automobile
was going in an easterly direction at the time of the accident. The
car in reported to have been driven by Robert Wylie Payne at the

Covington Man Killed When Auto Overturns
CORSICANA, Texas, July 24. - W. L. Payne, 27 years old, died at a local hospital at an early hour Sunday morning from internal injuries received Saturday, July 16, when his automobile turned over near Powell. The body will be forwarded to Covington, Hill County, Monday morning, where interment will be made Monday afternoon. He is survived by his wife and several small children.

Othman Davis. This researcher says that her name is Maude Grayson

her headstone is incorrect and her middle was Grayson.....

He had been a resident of this county for a long number of years, most of which were spent on a farm at Eureka. A widow and three children survive. The children are Homer Peacock of Eureka, Will Peacock of Corsicana and Mrs. Robert Wilson of Dallas. Three brothers and a sister also survive; Captain W. J. and J. A. Peacock of Dallas, T. M. Sammy Hawkins murdered; suspect escapee from Alabama
Sammie Joe Hawkins, 59, was found dead Sept. 5 at his home near Kerens, and
the man arrested for the crime escaped from an Alabama prison over 25 years
ago.
Gary Thomas Sharron, a convicted murderer from Alabama who escaped from
prison in 1977, was first identified as Glenn Ray Boelter, having lived in
the Cedar Creek area using that identity for several years.
Navarro County Sheriff’s deputies discovered Boelter’s former identity when
they ran his fingerprints through a national databank.
Sharron ran a barbecue restaurant in Seven Points and Mabank for several
years under the Boelter identity.
Sharron was convicted of stabbing a man to death in Alabama in February
1973, and sentenced to 25 years in prison in Alabama. He was made a trustee
and allowed into a work-release program. In April 1977, he walked away from
the work detail and never came back

Gertie B. Quinn, 92, a former resident of Corsicana and most recently a resident of Nacogdoches, died in Tomball on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, following several months of physical illness.
She was born Feb. 16, 1914, in Morgan County, Ala., to the late Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Breedlove.
In 1949, she married Harry Quinn, a Corsicana resident, and they both moved to Houston where they both worked for the Bemis Company. She retired from Bemis in the early 1970s.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Houston for several years and most recently was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Nacogdoches.
She was affectionately known to her 10 grandchildren as “Memaw.” Her grandchildren have lifetime memories of her wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She always made sure she spent time with each grandchild and always had time to listen to the needs of each one.
Gertie Quinn is survived by her 10 grandchildren, David Cantrell, Pam Barrow, Larry Chase, Rickey Cantrell, Sandy Helms, Debbie Staszewski, Linda Philley, Catherine Juarez, Cynthia Grothe and Terry Cantrell. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends in the Corsicana area. She was preceded in death by her siblings and her three children.
A memorial service for Gertie B. Quinn will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Corley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at Younger Cemetery following the memorial service. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend.

 Mrs. Mildred Atchley Jones, 89, of Rice passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends at Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rice Cemetery with Pastor Scott Schaller officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 25, 1916 in Freestone County. She was a longtime resident of Rice, and she retired from the Rice ISD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Cora Hughes, and her husband, Jess Atchley.
Survivors include family, close friends Susan and Bryan Whitley and their son Joshua; Mrs. Era Rawlins, all of Rice, and many others.

Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Sulphur Springs to Julian and Merla Kennemore. She worked at Russell Stover and enjoyed going to Cedar Creek Lake. She loved animals and she loved being with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Linda.

 Mrs. Jacqueline Corrine (Larsen) Postak, 81, graduated to Glory on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana, Texas. She was born on January 31, 1925 in Barberton, Ohio and lived there until 1980 when she and her husband, Mike moved to San Diego, California. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist for many years and was a member of Scott Memorial Baptist Church in San Diego. She started a ladies Bible study group which she named the Women of One Accord and it still presently meets today. In 2001 she moved to Texas to be near her daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Connally officiating. Interment
will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove, Texas. Pallbearers will be Frode Andersen, Donnie Grounds, Bob Bray, Mike Hambrick, Adam McLean, and Peb Richards.
Mrs. Postak was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Mike Postak.
She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law, Karen & Mark Hambrick of Barry, TX., and Michele Bender from Barberton, Ohio., Four Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren, and a brother, Keith Larsen of Barberton, Ohio.

J.C. “Dub” Turner, 95, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Mother Frances Hospital, Tyler.
Graveside services and interment will be at 3 p.m. today at Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse.
Dub was born July 20, 1911, near Emhouse, the son of Will and Fannie Turner, and he attended school at Farmer and Emhouse. Dub farmed through 1933 and worked at Farmer’s Union Gin for four years. He was employed for 19 years and was store manager of Safeway Stores in Corsicana, Taylor and Waxahachie. He was a salesman for Rains Wholesale Grocery in Ennis and for Bewley Mills in Fort Worth. In 1958, he moved from Waxahachie back to Corsicana and was store manager for Burney’s Food Store for 16 years. Then for six years he was a salesman for American Calendar Company.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael. Dub married Lois Nevill Beaird in 1965, who preceded him in death earlier this year.
Survivors include his children, Wayne and Carol Ann; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Corsicana. The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society instead of flowers.

James Bryan Trecek, 65, died Sept. 7, 2006, of medical complications related to cystic fibrosis. Born Oct. 15, 1940, in Madison, Wis., he lived a long, courageous life with such a rare disease. Jim was the son of the late Louis John Trecek and Catherine Wrend Trecek.
Jim earned B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering at the
University of Iowa. He was with American Cyanamid Company in New Jersey for 26 years. He worked as a scientist in research and development and is credited with a number of patents. He held several positions at the managerial level in the Industrial and Specialty Chemicals Divisions. From 1992 through 1998, Jim worked for Freedom Textile Chemicals Company in Charlotte, N.C., as vice president of manufacturing and technology. Always active in many engineering professional organizations, he was also a member of Sigma Xi and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Trecek of Charlotte, N.C.; son, Bryan James (Kimberly) Trecek of Rochester, N.Y.; son, Jon Benjamin (Elizabeth) of Cleveland, Ohio; two granddaughters, Autumn and Kelsea of Rochester, N.Y.; three sisters, Constance Sylvia (David) Lomen of Tucson, Ariz., Jane Louise (Tom) Murray of Alexandria, Ind., and Betty (Russell) Gilfoy of Virginia; three nieces and one nephew as well as family members in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Jim’s life at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Sharon Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Attn: Comm. Dept., 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814.

Sybil Lynn (Fondren) Mitcham, 87, of Hubbard passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 at a Hubbard nursing center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. Bruce Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mitcham was born Nov. 24, 1918 in Dawson, one of six children born to C.F. and Dora (Williams) Fondren. She lived all of her life in the Dawson and Hubbard area and was a graduate of Dawson High School. Mrs. Mitcham liked to read, cook, keep up with politics and listen to her son Billy Roy sing and her late son, Joe, work as an auctioneer. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Hubbard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mitcham in 1981 and by son, Joe Mitcham in 2002.
Survivors include son, Billy Roy Mitcham of Hubbard; daughter-in-law, Carol Mitcham of Hubbard; granddaughter, Katherine Lynsey Mitcham of Hubbard; grandson, Jeffrey Smith of Hubbard; two nieces, Carolyn Humphries of Dawson and Sharon Maass of Brownwood; seven great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Midwest City, Okla.
Ann taught school for 38 years in Marshall, Corsicana and Arlington ISD. She was currently employed with Oklahoma City ISD.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Bethel AME Church, 105 N. Fourth St., Corsicana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, I.C. and Ruby Tarkington; sister, Juanita Tarkington; and brother, Troy Tarkington.

Janet Brannon Watts, 90, died peacefully in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 13, 2006. A lover of life and all her extended family, her unwavering faith made her life a testament to all who knew her. Though she had no children of her own, she helped raise many of her 11 brothers and sisters and their children. Her careers in cosmetology, elder care and childcare, including her roles as “dorm mother” at Navarro College and “house mother” at I.O.O.F. Children’s Home, allowed her to shower unconditional love on all that she encountered.
Born in Blooming Grove on March 29, 1916, she was preceded in death by her parents, William Wiley Brannon and Francis Delaney Brannon; and 11 siblings, Charlie, Stella, Carl, Hubert, Roy Lavester, Burl, James Tommy, William “Bill” Brannon, Lucille Brannon Boyd, Della Brannon Mabry, Lorraine Brannon Wilson, all formerly of Corsicana.
Survivors include nieces, Randye Brannon Carter of Pine Bluff, Ark., Sharon Brannon McCone of Washington, D.C., Ima Lee Brannon King of Corsicana, Martha Brannon Murrell of Fort Worth, Suzy Brannon Cleve of New Mexico and Mildred Davis of California; nephews, Bob Brannon of Garmisch, Germany, Joe Brannon of Fort Worth, Marvin Davis of Corsicana and John Davis of St. Louis, Mo.; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Chenault was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Greenville to Joe Fowler and Josie Floyd Fowler. She worked at the Hat Factory for nine years and Woolsworth for eight years. She was a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making beautiful quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Henry Leon Chenault; son, Joe Wesley Chenault; parents; and brothers and sisters, E.J. Fowler, Claude Fowler, Opal Steele and Floy Kirby.

He was preceded in death by his son Brian Rollins, his sister Rose Rollins, and his parents Harry & Jeanette Collins.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Laura and Hank Waller of Dawson, daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Jeff Hestand of Corsicana. His brothers Randy Rollins of Kerens, Mitchell and Paul Rollins of Corsicana. His Sisters Sharon Rollins and Juanita Ward both of Corsicana, and Barbara Gallup of Mansfield. He also leaves behind Eight Grandchildren, and his ex-wife Frances Bishop of Corsicana, TX.

Mr. Ernesto Terrazas Ocon, Sr., 65, of Corsicana passed away on Monday, September 18, 2006 in Corsicana. He was born on July 22, 1941 in Durango, Mexico.
He retired from Oil City Iron Works in August after 30+ years of service. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Corley Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Danilo Ramos officiating. Interment will follow in the

Rites Wednesday for Retired Ennis Christian Pastor
ENNIS, Texas, July 8—The Rev. C. B. Knight, retired minister of the Christian Church here, died Tuesday morning at his home in Knighthurts Addition to Ennis after several weeks’ illness. The funeral will be held at the First Christian Church here Wednesday afternoon at 4 O’clock, with the pastor, the Rev. Dean Harrison conducting the service, assisted by the Rev. Alfred Holman of the Presbyterian Church with burial in the cemetery at Chatfield.
Cullen Bryant Knight was born near Houston. He entered the ministry at Vanderbilt, Pa. And came to Ennis as pastor in 1905. He was married to Miss
Elizabeth Harper at Chatfield June 1, 1910.
Owing to _________, Mr. Knight retired from the ministry and engaged in the insurance business in Ennis.
Surviving are his wife, two brothers, Tom Knight of Tyler and Adolfus Knight of Wichita Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. T. E. Goble of Houston and Mrs. L. D. Wright of Tyler. He was a member of the Christian Church and the Woodmen of the World.
