Pvt. J. B. Bennett was born in Navarro
County, February 8, 1896, and was educated in the rural schools of that
county. Entered the service of the U. S. Army on September 20, 1917, and
was assigned to Company B, 138th Infantry, 35th Division. Went overseas in
May, 1918. Participated in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne drives.
After returning home received his discharge on May 15, 1919. His home is
in Corsicana, Texas.
