TOMMIE J. BLISSETT
Pvt. Tommie J. Blissett, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Blissett, of Corsicana,
was born in Navarro County, Texas January 20, 1896. He was educated
in the public schools of that county. On May 25, 1918, he entered
the United States service and was trained at Camp Travis and Camp
Bowie. Was with Company M, 142nd Infantry, 36th Division, going
overseas July 18, 1918, to France. On September 27, 1918, his
division left for the Champagne sector. Commencing October 6th this
division took active part in the operations of the French Fourth Army,
advancing to the Aisne River. Private Blisett was at the front
twenty-six days. Following the signing of the armistice was
discharged May 30, 1919.
