A. M. Crossland, Enlisted into the Confederate
Army as a private on April 14,
1863 by C. M. Winkler. He
was wounded in left arm
at the Battle of the Wilderness on May 6, 1864 and in the thigh at Ft Harrison/Chaffin's Farm
on
Sept 29, 1864. These wounds left him disabled. He was listed as a prisoner of war at Appomattox
Courthouse on April 12, 1865, he was 40 years of age. He lived his last years on earth at the Confederate Home in
Austin, Texas. Mr. Crossland died on April 5, 1909 at age 86 and is buried at the
Texas
State Cemetery in
Austin, Travis Co., Texas. A. M. Crossland received
Confederate Pension
