Mrs. Della L. Clark, wife of H. A. Robinson Family Notes
I was working on something else and started looking at this family and thought
I might as well send it to you in case someone inquires about them. I don't
know if any of their people are still around or if they have any interest in
genealogy. I also posted most of this on the Roberson genforum page if you
don't have a need for it.

The Roberson/Robison mother is given elsewhere as "Nice" Gravett so
this seems possible.

James Tandy Key

While it might seem that James Cochran and Angelina B. Key were the parents of James Tandy Key, I have been told by Key researchers that James’s parents were Madison Troy Key and Samantha Maddox, siblings of James and Angelina.  Estate records for Madison Troy Key (1826-1852) in Russell County, Alabama (familysearch.org) show that Madison Troy Key did have a son, James Tandy Key, who was a minor at the time of his death.  Apparently, Samantha predeceased him, as Madison remarried shortly before his death in 1852.  Madison is buried in Salem Cemetery, Lee County, Alabama.

James C. and Angeline had a son who was listed in 1860 as James M., age 11, born Alabama, and in 1870 as J. M., age 21, Alabama.  A James Madison Key (1848-1914) is buried in Hill County, Texas.  His death certificate shows his birth in Alabama and his father as J. C. Key, so possibly he was James Cochran’s son.  The name of his mother, on the certificate, was actually the name of his wife, so one can only speculate.

James Tandy Key married Georgia V. Grimmett, daughter of William M. Grimmett and Martha Hester, on 21 Sep 1869 in Chambers County, Alabama.  Georgia’s children were Maude (1872), Thomas Madison (1875) and Achsah (1877), all buried in Dresden Cemetery.  Maude married William James Crossland on 26 Sep 1897 in Navarro County.  Thomas Madison Key married Carrie Lillian Fox about 1903.

James Tandy Key’s second marriage was to Mary E. “Mollie” Thomas on 26 Jun 1884 in Denton County, Texas.  Mary was the mother of Tandy Augustus (1886), Gertrude (1887), Nolan E. (1892), and Mary Elizabeth (1894).  Gertrude and Nolan are buried in Dresden Cemetery.  Tandy Augustus Key died in 1960 and was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Beaumont, Jefferson, Texas.  Mary Elizabeth (Key) Ryan died 1955, in Houston, and was buried in Maverick Cemetery, Eagle Pass, Maverick, Texas.

Mary (Thomas) Key was the daughter of Daniel Thomas and Elizabeth D. Smith.  The details of her father’s death are not known, but we believe he died during the Civil War.  Elizabeth (1818-1892) died in Grayson County, Texas and was buried in Pilot Point Community Cemetery, Denton County, Texas.  Daniel and Elizabeth were my husband’s great-great-grandparents.
