Cyrus Augustin Davis was the son of Christina Liming, born Aug 22, 1875 in Illinois, and died Sept 23, 1898 near Pursley, Navarro County, Texas. He married Lucy Hosier.

The inscription reads:

The cross on the grave stone is not a reflection, nor is it painted on or scraped on. It possibly could be an chemical such as bleach applied with cloth or rag, but has been there for some time. John and Christina and children moved from Illinois in the Winter of 1788 to the Dresden, Texas area, stopping off in Cass Co, Peculiar MO for a time. They arrived for spring planting in the Dresden, Texas area, and she and two of the children were lost to Typhoid in the fall and winter of 1879. Burti, son of J. B. & C.A. Davis died Aug 20, 1879 died a month before his mom and along with Lona Leon and Chrtistina were buried together. Lona Leon Davis was born Jul 19, 1871 and Died Nov 1, 1879 right after his mom passed away. Their grave is under a large shade tree in Dresden Cemetery. John Barton married Mirilda Kimbrell and they had two children before John Barton Davis passed away about eight miles south of this location on 24 Nov 1920. Cyrus Augustin Davis was son of Christina and John Davis. He is buried in the Old Pursley Cemetery close to John Barton Davis grave. Cyrus A Davis and Lucy Hosier had a daughter, Nora Davis, born 1897, who married Dennis Reddin. Nora Davis died in 1968 and her husband Dennis died in 1966.
