Flying Cadet Capt. C. Elkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee B. Elkins, was born in Emhouse, Texas, September 14, 1895, and was
educated in the public schools of that place, Trinity University and University of Texas. He entered the service February 8, 1918, at Camp Dick, training with the 11th Squadron, Aviation Flying Station, until July 17th, when he was sent to the United States S. M. A., University of Illinois, where he graduated
from the Ground School with the rank of Cadet Captain. Was sent to Schenute, the third state, thence to Camp Dick, where he received his discharge December 4, 1918. History of Texas World War Heroes |
