N. F. Garrett, Park and Finance Commissioner, was born in Walton County, Georgia, in 1874 and came to Corsicana in 1895.  Soon after his arrival here he entered the grocery business.

Mr. Garrett was elected Park and Finance Commissioner in 1915, and has held this position on the Board of City Commissioners continuously since that time.  He is also engaged in farming and stock raising and has met with great success in every undertaking.
