Robert Earl Irvine, brother of Chas. F. Irvine, and son of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Irvine of Navarro County, was born June 28, 1898, in Navarro County, and educated in Corsicana.  He entered the service in the U. S. Navy April 28, 1918, and was stationed at the Great Lakes.  He was assigned to a receiving ship at Hampton Roads Naval Hospital, Great Lakes.  He was promoted from Hospital Apprentice, Second Class, to First Class Apprentice and then from Pharmacist's Mate, Second Class, to First Class.  He received his discharge September 5, 1919.
