Pvt. B. E. McGehee, was
born in Neuka, Mississippi, on June 14, 1891, and was educated in
the rural schools. Entered the service on September 20, 1917.
Was assigned to Company F. 164th Infantry. Trained at Camp
Travis, Texas, and went overseas in March 1918. Was then
transferred to Company M, 314th Infantry, 79th Division.
Participated in the battle of the Meuse-Argonne and was killed in
action on November 9, 1918. Had first been in the 315th
Engineers, but was transfered to the 164th Infantry because he
