Methodist Church, Kerens, Texas
Notes:
-
"In 1885, Reverend John S. Davis held a
revival meeting under a brush arbor on a little creek west
of Kerens, Texas, and a Methodist Church of about 40 members
was organized. In 1891, Reverend N. A. Keene was appointed
to this Church, and in 1892, the First Methodist Church was
built under his ministry. In 1929, under the ministry of
Reverend Paul Evans, our present beautiful brick house of
worship was organized." Inscribed on a "Kerens Methodist

Notes:
- My grandparents lived across the street
from that church and my grandfather was the carpenter that
built it. Also I was baptized in that church and my
father's funeral was held there. I actually have one of the
windows from it. This building was torn down when the
present Methodist Church Building was constructed.
